Prayers
O Lord, we pray for the persecuted church. We especially pray for those who
are prisoners for their faith, remembering them as if we were chained with
them. We pray for all Your people who are mistreated for Your sake,
O Lord, for we ourselves are in physical bodies and may one day suffer for
the faith as well.
Genesis 19:9
O Lord, protect the persecuted church. For when Your people live righteous
lives in the midst of this wicked world, even as righteous Lot lived in wicked
Sodom, some accuse your people of acting as their judges and seek to
destroy them.
Send Your angels, O Lord, to protect the righteous when the world presses
hard against them and tries to punish them for their purity.

set themselves against us all around, such that we will not be afraid, for
salvation belongs to You, the Lord our God, and Your blessing is upon Your
people.
Psalm 23; Romans 8
We pray also that Your rod and staff will comfort the persecuted church as
they go through the valley of the shadow of death. We praise You that
nothing can separate them from the love of Christ, not even persecution,
peril or sword.
We praise You that nothing can separate them from the love of Christ even
as they are killed for His sake all the day long and are accounted as sheep
for the slaughter.
Psalm 37:1-2
May they not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the works of
iniquity. For the wicked shall soon be cut down like grass, and wither
as the green herb. But they that wait upon the Lord shall inherit the earth.
Psalm 37:6-9
We pray for the persecuted church. Use them as Your witness even to those
who hate both You and them. Bring forth their righteousness as the light and
their justice as the noonday.
Enable them to rest in You, O Lord, and not to be anxious because of those
who bring wicked schemes to pass. For evildoers shall be cut off; but those
who wait on the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

We pray today for the persecuted church. Encourage them and enable them to
persevere. We pray for the coming day when the wicked will be no more, the
day when we will look carefully for the place of the wicked,
but it shall be no more. May the meek inherit the earth and delight
themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psalm 37:12-15
Bless the persecuted church, O Lord, for the wicked plot against the just
and gnash at them with their teeth. Yet You laugh at the wicked, O Lord,
for You know that the day is coming when their sword shall enter their own
heart
and their bows shall be broken. Uphold Your people, O Lord, and protect them.

is none to deliver.
Psalm 83:13,16,18
We pray for our fellow Christians who are being persecuted by evil powers. O
Lord, make Your enemies and ours like whirling dust, like chaff before the

Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O LORD, and that
they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High
over all the earth.

O Lord, we also pray for Your persecuted church. We pray for our brothers and

O Lord;
protect them and use them to disciple their nations.

O Lord, we today pray for the persecuted church. Let all those who hate Zion

which withers before it grows up. Neither let those who pass by them say,
,
"The blessing of the LORD be upon you."
Psalm 141:9-10
We pray for the persecuted church, O Lord. Keep Your people from the snares
which the wicked have laid for them, and from the traps of the workers of
iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while Your people escape
safely.

O Lord, we pray for the persecuted church, for You are our refuge and our
portion in the land of the living. Attend to our cry, O Lord, for many of
Your people are brought very low. Deliver them from their persecutors,
Lord, for
their persecutors are stronger than they are. Bring their souls out of
prison, that they may praise Your name. Surround them with their righteous
brethren and deal bountifully with them.

from the grip of the terrible.

O Lord, we pray for the persecuted church. Let them be ashamed who persecute

persecutors be dismayed, but do not let Your people be dismayed.
Bring on the persecutors the day of doom, and destroy them with double
destruction.

O Lord, we pray for the persecuted church, for You warned that we Your people

and cause them to be put to death. Be with Your people, O Lord, and enable
them to endure such trials, even to the end.

love like the world nor hope like the world.
