Exodus 31:1-3
O Lord, we pray for our church. Fill the officers of our church, the elders
and the deacons, with Your Spirit, in wisdom, in understanding, in
knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, that they may build up our
church as Your
new covenant temple.
Exodus 32:7-8
O Lord, may Your kingdom come to our church, the people whom You have
redeemed from the lordship of sin and Satan. May our church not be as Israel
before Mt. Sinai when they made the golden calf so soon after their redemption
from Egypt.
May we not corrupt ourselves and turn quickly out of the way which You have
commanded us.
Leviticus 22:31-33
O Lord, may our church keep Your commandments and perform them; for You are
the LORD. May we not profane Your holy name, but may You be hallowed among
us. You are the Lord, who sanctifies us, who brought us out of the dark
kingdom of this
world, to be our God. You are the LORD.
Leviticus 26:3,11-13
O Lord, we pray for Your kingdom to come to our church. May we walk in Your
statues and keep Your commandments, and perform them. Set Your tabernacle
among us, O Lord, and do not abhor us. Walk among us and be our God,
and accept us as Your people. For You are the LORD our God, who brought us
out of our bondage to sin, that we should not be its slave; You have broken
the bands of our yoke and made us walk upright.
Nehemiah 4:17
O Lord, may Your kingdom come to our local church. Enable us to be like those
who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem under Nehemiah and carried a trowel in
one hand and a sword in the other. Enable us both to build up Your church
and to defend Your church against those who would tear it down. Enable us
both to edify and to fortify, both to cultivate and to guard, both to tend
and to keep. Enable us both to confess the good confession
and to fight the good fight.
Psalm 5:11-12
We pray for Your church, O Lord. May Christ as our king subdue us to Himself,
rule and defend us, and restrain and conquer all His and our enemies.
May all those rejoice who put their trust in You.
May they ever shout for joy because You defend them. May those also who love
Your name be joyful in You. Bless the righteous, O Lord, and surround
them with Your favor as with a shield.
Psalm 133
We pray that You will bless our local church with a unity rooted in love,
for how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is a great blessing like a heavy dew such as falls upon Mount Hermon
descending upon the dry slopes of the mountains of Zion.
Psalm 133:1-3
O Lord, we pray for Your kingdom to come to our local church. Enable us to
dwell together in unity as the family of faith. For unity enables Your
church to flourish even as a heavy dew falling upon Mount Zion refreshes it and
renews its
vegetation.
Jeremiah 28:15-16; Acts 17:11
Bless Your church, O Lord. Protect Your people from false prophets who claim
to come from You and yet teach rebellion against You and try to make Your
people trust in lies.
Give Your people, O Lord, a love for Your word such that they search the
Scriptures daily and a confidence in Your word such that they test all they
hear against Your word as their final standard.
Jeremiah 32:38-41
We pray for our church family, O Lord. Give us one heart and one mind united
forever by a common respectful fear of You, for our own good and for the
good of our children after us.
Do not turn away from doing us good, but put Your fear in our hearts so that
we will not depart from You. May we ever be Your people, and may You ever
be our God.
Hosea 13:3
O Lord, we pray for our local church. Enable us as a church to be faithful
to you by faithfully teaching Your Word, by faithfully worshipping You each
Lord's Day, by faithfully living our lives in conformity to Your revealed
will.
Enable us, O Lord, to keep covenant with You, for we know that if we do not,
then our church will be like the morning cloud and like the early dew that
passes away, like chaff blown off from a threshing floor and like smoke
from a chimney.
For apart from You and Your blessing, O Lord, we are as nothing and can do
nothing of any lasting significance.
Matthew 9:36
O Lord, bless our local church. Especially bless our elders as they seek to
shepherd the flock, that our members will not be like sheep having no
shepherd, weary and scattered.
Matthew 20:25-28
May we not seek to lord it over one another in our church, as the rulers of
the Gentiles do. May we instead be like the Son of Man who did not come to
be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many.
May those who desire to be great in our church and first among us truly be
servants of our church after the example of Jesus.
Matthew 21:18-20
O Lord, may our church not be like that fig tree to which our Lord Jesus
looked for food but found no fruit though there was an abundance of
leaves. We thank you for the leaves You have given us and entrusted to us,
for our church has many gifted people and many resources. Now, O Lord,
enable us also to bear much fruit in Your service for Your honor and glory.
Mark 5:19-20
May Your kingdom come to our local church, O Lord. Give us a zeal, O Lord,
for telling others about Your greatness and goodness. May we be like the man
whom Jesus delivered from a legion of demons and put in his right mind.
May we also go home to our friends, and tell them what great things the Lord
has done for us, and how He has had compassion on us.
Acts 2:42
Enable our local church to follow the good example of the early apostolic
church in Jerusalem, which continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine
and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Colossians 4:17
Enable us as a church to take heed to the ministries which we have received
from You, that we may fulfill them. Enable us to recognize the
opportunities to minister which You have put before us
and the doors of ministry which You have opened to us and the gifts,
resources and abilities which You have entrusted to us.
1 Timothy 1:5
We pray for our church, O Lord. Bind us together, O Lord, with the bond of
love that is guided by Your commandments, motivated by pure hearts,
consistent with a good conscience
and empowered by our sincere faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Timothy 1:18-20
O Lord, we pray for Your blessing upon our local church. May we not, as some
have, reject a good conscience. May we not, as some have, suffer shipwreck
regarding the faith. May we instead persevere in good morals and true
doctrine,
in righteous conduct and sound convictions. Enable us to remain faithful
and to wage good warfare with spiritual weapons on behalf of Christ our Lord
and and His kingdom.
2 Timothy 4:1-2
O Lord, may Your kingdom come to our local church. May we be faithful,
knowing that Jesus Christ will judge the living and the dead at His
appearing and His kingdom. May we preach the word.
May we be ready in season and out of season. May we convince, rebuke, exhort,
with all longsuffering and teaching.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
We pray for the coming of Your kingdom in our church, O Lord. May we not be
as those who will not endure sound doctrine but according to their own
desires, because they have itching ears,
heap up for themselves teachers and turn their ears away from the truth and
turn aside to fables. May we not be as them, O Lord.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
O Lord, bless our local church. May we ever be a church which values sound
doctrine from Your word and which rejects any teacher who tries to turn our
ears away from the truth and to turn us aside to false teachings
which are nothing more than fables and myths. Protect us, O Lord, from
those who would lead us astray.
Titus 2:13-14
O Lord, we pray for our church. We rejoice that our great God and Savior
Jesus Christ gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless
deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
We pray that our church body will be live out its redemption by serving You
whose service is the only true freedom.
Titus 3:8-9
We pray for our church, O Lord. Enable us who have believed to be careful
to maintain good works, for these things are good and profitable to men.
But enable us to avoid foolish disputes and contentions and strivings that
are unprofitable and useless.
Titus 3:14
O Lord, bless our church. May our people learn to maintain good works and to
meet urgent needs, that we may not be unfruitful. Enable us to see the
opportunities which You provide for us to serve others in Your name,
and give us the desire and ability to take full advantage of such
opportunities.
Hebrews 13:17
O Lord, we pray for Your kingdom to come to our local church. We thank you
for raising up and calling our elders as the pastors and overseers of this
congregation. Enable our congregation to obey those who rule over them
and to be submissive, for our elders watch out for our souls as those who
must give account. Fill us with Your grace, O God, so that our elders may
shepherd Your flock with joy and not with grief.
