Genesis 21:22
O Lord, as a gift of grace upon grace, give us obedient hearts and then
reward our obedience both in this life and in the life to come, such that
the world will look upon us and say, "God is with you in all that you do."
Genesis 28:20-22
O Lord, we pray as Jacob prayed at Bethel, Be with us and keep us in the
way that we are going, give us bread to eat and clothing to put on, and
enable us to finish our pilgrimage in peace.
Genesis 39:2-3
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We pray that You will be with us
and grant us success, even as You blessed Joseph in Egypt such that his
master Potiphar saw that You were with Joseph
and that You made all that Joseph did to prosper in his hand. Even so,
bless us, O Lord, as far as this is for Your glory and our true good.
Leviticus 26:3-4
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread; for You
have promised us as Your people that if we will walk in Your statutes and keep
Your commandments and perform them,
then You will give us rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce,
and the trees of the field shall yeild their fruit.
Leviticus 26:14,15,18-20
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread; for we know
that if we despise Your statutes, or if our soul abhors Your judgments, so
that we do not perform all Your commandments but instead break Your covenant,
nt,
then You have the power to chasten us by making the heavens like iron and
the earth like bronze, such that our strength is spent in vain, for our land
does not yield its produce, nor the trees of the land their fruit.
May we instead, O Lord, obey You and observe all Your commandments, and
may You bless us and provide for our needs.
Numbers 11:4-6
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. May we not be, O Lord, as the mix
ed multitude among the children of Israel in the wilderness who were not gr
ateful for the manna which You provided for them but instead craved
the fish, cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic which they had had in
Egypt. Provide for our needs, O Lord, in the wilderness of this life, and
give us grateful hearts for the manna which You provide.
Deuteronomy 7:12-13
We thank You, O Lord, that You keep with us the covenant and the mercy
which You swore to the patriarchs, our spiritual fathers, as we follow their
example of faith and listen to Your judgments and keep and do them.
We thank You that You have loved us and blessed us with descendants and
with abundant provisions and possessions.
Deuteronomy 8:14-18
O Lord, enable us to remember that we are today still dependent upon You
even as was Israel when You led them through that great and terrible
wilderness in which were fiery serpents and scorpions.
It was a thirsty land in which there was no water, and You brought water
for them out of the flinty rock and fed them in the wilderness with manna.
In the midst of all our abundance and prosperity, enable us to remember, O
Lord, and not to forget that You are still today the One who gives us
the power to get wealth.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18
Heavenly Father, many say in their heart, "My power and the might of my hand
have gained me my wealth." But, O Lord our God, we remember You, for You
bless us with the blessings of the covenant,
and give us the power to get wealth, confirming Your covenant of mercy with
us. We praise You for this and pray for Your continued blessings upon us.
1 Chronicles 29:10,12
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We ask this, for both riches and
honor come from You, and You reign over all. Blessed are You, LORD God of
Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
We pray that You will bless us and prosper us in all that we do, that You
will give us health and strength, that You will provide our needs in life
and bless our efforts as we seek to live for You.
Psalm 23
O Lord, even as a good shepherd provides for His sheep, we pray that You
will provide for us and meet our genuine needs in life. Feed us, lead us and
protect us, O Lord. You are our Shepherd; therefore, we shall not want.
You make us to lie down in green pastures; You lead us beside the still
waters. You restore our souls; You lead us in the paths of righteousness for
Your name's sake.
Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear
no evil; for You are with us; your rod and Your staff, they comfort us.
Psalm 23:1-2
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. You are our Shepherd. May we
never want for anything we truly need. Make us to lie down in green pastures
and lead us beside the still waters.
Psalm 24:1-2
O Lord, we ask You today for our daily bread, for the earth is Yours, O
Lord, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For You
have founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
Psalm 37:25-26
O Lord, we ask that You will give us this day our daily bread. We ask,
Lord, with confidence that You will provide, for we have not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.
Psalm 65:13
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread. We pray
this because we know that when You send Your blessings upon the earth, the
pastures are clothed with flocks, and the valleys also are covered with
grain.
Psalm 78:24
O Lord, we ask for You to provide for us, for our daily provisions come to
us from You just as surely as You fed Your people Israel in the wilderness
with manna, the bread of heaven which You rained down on them to eat.
Psalm 78:25
O Lord, we ask for You to provide for us, for our daily provisions come to
us from You just as surely as You fed Your people Israel in the wilderness
with manna, when men ate angels' food and You sent them food to the full.
Psalm 90:17
May Your favor, O LORD our God, be upon us. Prosper and establish the work
of our hands and give us success.
Psalm 104:27-29
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread, for the
whole of Your creation waits for You, that You may give them their food in due
season. What You give them, they gather in; You open Your hand, and they
are filled with
good. O Lord, we need Your help and support, for when You hide Your face,
we are troubled; You take away our breath, and we die and return to the dust
from which we came. Bless us, O Lord, and provide for our needs,
for we are truly dependent upon You.
Psalm 107:8-9
O Lord, we pray that you will give us this day our daily bread, for You
satisfy the longing soul and fill the hungry soul with goodness. We give
thanks to You, O Lord, for Your goodness and for Your wonderful works to
the children of men.
Psalm 111:5
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread. Provide for
our needs, O Lord, for You give food to those who fear You, and You are
ever mindful of Your covenant with us.
Psalm 113:7
O Lord, we ask You to give us this day our daily bread, for You raise the
poor out of the dust, and lift the needy out of the ash heap.
Psalm 119:17
O Lord, deal bountifully with Your servants, that we may live and keep Your
word. Provide for our material needs in life, give us health and strength,
that we may focus our attention upon and expend our energy in advancing Your
kingdom.
Psalm 145:14-16
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread, for You
uphold all who fall, and raise up all those who are bowed down.
Our eyes look expectantly to You, O Lord, for You give us our food in due
season and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
Psalm 145:15-16
O Lord, we ask You to give us this day our daily bread, for the eyes of all
look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You
open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
Psalm 147:8-9
O Lord, we ask that You give us this day our daily bread. For You are the
one who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who
makes grass to grow on the mountains. You give to the beast its food,
and to the young ravens that cry. We look to You to provide for us as well,
for We are Your people and the sheep of Your pasture.
Proverbs 30:8-9
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. Feed us with the food which You
have allotted to us. We do not ask for excessive wealth lest we be full and
forget our need of You and deny You, saying "Who is the Lord?"
Also, we ask You to protect us from dire poverty lest we as Your people be
tempted to steal, which would profane Your name. Provide for us, O Lord,
and keep us close to You and far from all falsehood and lies.
Proverbs 30:8-9
Give us this day our daily bread, O Lord. Feed us with the food which You in
Your wisdom, O Lord, have alloted to us. We do not ask for excessive riches
lest we be full and deny You and say, "Who is the LORD?"
But also, O Lord, protect us from poverty, lest we be poor and steal and
profane Your name, O Lord our God.
Jeremiah 5:24-25
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. Enable us to say in our heart; "Let
us now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the
latter, in its season, and who reserves for us the appointed weeks of harvest."
."
O Lord, keep us from sin lest our iniquities turn these things away from us
and withhold this good from us.
Jeremiah 24:6
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread. Set Your
eyes on us for good. Build us up and do not tear us down; plant us and do
not pluck us up.
Micah 6:15
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We are truly dependent upon You,
O Lord. Apart from Your blessing upon us, we sow but do not reap; we tread
olives but do not anoint ourselves with oil; we make sweet wine but do not
drink wine.
Bless us, O Lord, and our efforts, and provide for our needs in life.
Haggai 1:6-7
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We know that when we are under Your
chastening hand, we sow much but bring in little; we eat, but do not have
enough; we drink but are not filled; we cloth ourselves but are not warm.
O Lord, this thought causes us to consider our ways and to pray for Your
blessings upon us.
Matthew 6:28-30
O Lord, we pray that You will provide for our daily needs. We consider the
lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, and yet even
Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
O Lord, if you so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow
is thrown into the oven, then how much more will You clothe us, O Lord,
Your people who look to You in faith.
Matthew 6:31-34
O Lord, deliver us from needless worry about tomorrow, worry about what we
shall eat, what we shall drink, and what we shall wear. For You know, O
Lord, that we need these things.
May we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and may we trust You
to provide for our needs in this life and not consume ourselves with
useless worry.
Mark 1:30-31
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We think of how Jesus came to
Simon Peter's mother-in-law when she lay sick with a fever. Jesus took her by
the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she
served Jesus
and His disciples. O Lord, provide for our needs, and give us health and
strength that we may serve You and Your disciples.
Mark 6:34
Give us this day our daily bread, O Lord. Have compassion on us, for apart
from Jesus we are like sheep not having a shepherd. Teach us many things, O
Lord, and then feed us, even as our Savior Jesus fed the 5000 with five
loaves and two fish.
two fish.
Mark 6:48-51
Give us this day our daily bread, O Lord. At times, O Lord, our efforts in
this life are like straining at rowing when the wind is strongly against
us.
Come to us, O Lord, and be with us in our labors, that we may be of good
cheer and that the opposing wind may cease. Bless our efforts, O Lord, and
provide for our needs.
John 21:12-14
O Lord, as we pray this prayer, we think of the third time Jesus appeared to
His disciples after He rose from the dead. He met them by the Sea of
Galilee, gave them bread and fish, and ate with them.
Lord, we ask that You would similarly provide for us and commune with us in
sweet fellowship as we enjoy the good things of this life which You
provide for us.
1 Corinthians 4:7
O Lord, we pray that You will give us this day our daily bread. We ask for
Your help, O Lord, for we are totally dependent upon You, even as are all
others. We are no different, O Lord,
for what do we have that we did not receive from You? And if we received it,
why should we glory as if we had not received it? We ask for You, O Lord,
to bless our efforts and to meet our needs, and we give to You all the glory
and the praise.
James 1:16-17
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We ask You to meet our needs, O
Lord, for we know that every good and every perfect gift is from above, and
comes from You, the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or
shadow of turning.
3 John 2
O Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We pray that of Your free gift,
we may prosper in all things and be in health, just as by Your grace our
souls prosper.
